Sustainable Film Shoots: Where do we begin? Sitges 2018

11/10/2018

We participated in the round table at the Festival Internacional de Cine Fantástico de Cataluña where we shared our experiences and explained how we apply sustainability criteria to filming, detailing our experience in green filming, and the strategies that can be adopted to make filming more environmentally friendly.

Making a shoot sustainable involves all departments: coordinated by production which establishes our recommendations to reduce our carbon footprint.

Sustainability in filming is essential, the audiovisual industry generates a huge amount of waste in a very short time, awareness of our surroundings is growing, and we love initiatives such as this presentation which raises understanding of the needs, and improvements that can be made in this area.

The Catalan Film Commission and the Business Development Service (SDE) of the Catalan Institute of Cultural Enterprises (ICEC) organized this talk on sustainable production, within the framework of the Sitges Film Hub del Sitges – Festival Internacional de Cine Fantástico de Cataluña. We shared a table with Luz Molina, head of the legal department of PROMALAGA, who presented the tools that are being developed from the Green Screen project, to promoteenvironmental awareness in the industry, a project which FrescoFilm Services participates actively in.
