On October 26, 2019, at the Another Way Film Festival, we shared our experiences in implementing measures to ensure that film shoots are as sustainable as possible.
The day aimed to publicize sustainability criteria in productions in order to reduce environmental impact: minimizing negative impact, maximizing the positive for both the planet and society, while promoting the economic profitability of projects. Another important issue on the agenda was the generation of stamps and/or certifications for collaborating companies and productions in appreciation of their participation in this endeavor.
We shared the work table with Fiction Changing the World; Pro-Málaga, an organization involved in the development of the “Green Production” seal of the European Union; Tenerife Film Commission; Morena Films; Madrid Film commission and the ICAA, (The Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts). This is the fifth Another Way Film Festival, a festival on sustainable progress in Madrid – this years’ slogan was ‘Sometimes a Generation Has to Make History’.
The day of ‘Training for Committed Filmmakers: Producing in a Sustainable way is Possible’ was organized by Fiction Changing the World and sponsored by the City of Madrid Film Office, a Madrid City Council public service dedicated to promoting the city as a film destination and advising companies and professionals in the audiovisual sector wishing to develop their projects there.
