The filming of the first season of Warrior Nun has finished

01/08/2019

Our thanks to Netflix Original and Reality Distorsion Field for allowing Fresco Film to be part of such an exciting project.

10 episodes, 17 weeks of filming with 300 people in teams of different nationalities: Canadian; North American; and Spanish cooperated to shoot season 1 of Warrior Nun.

This is the story of a young woman who wakes up in a morgue with a strange device on her back that gives her extraordinary powers. Action and fantasy are the main ingredients of this production that is based on the comic ‘Warrior Nun Areala’, which was born in the 90’s by cartoonist and screenwriter Ben Dunn.

Filmed mainly on locations in the province of Málaga, (Málaga city, Antequera, Marbella, Ronda, Alhaurín el Grande, Rincón de la Victoria) and in provinces such as Seville and Córdoba. Action was taken to ensure the production was as sustainable as possible: reusable Fresco bottles were distributed to the entire crew to fill in the available water sources to avoid the use of plastic; recycling; and the use of environmentally respectful materials.

In this project we counted on the invaluable collaboration of organizations and institutions that facilitate film production and support the industry: Málaga Film Office; University of Malaga; Antequera City Council; Alhaurín City Council; the Association of Medium-sized Cities, and the Polo Digital of Malaga.

We thank the entire Fresco Film team and all the people and the companies that worked so hard to make the filming of this series a total triumph.

We wish all success to Warrior NUN on its premiere!
